Fabric Batiks

Left: Created by Kole D.
Right: Created by Andrea S.

The works showecased above are Batiks created in Comtemporary Crafts. A batik is a technique of hand-dyeing fabrics by using wax as a dye repellent to cover parts of the design, dyeing the uncovered fabric with color, then dissolving the wax in boiling water or ironing out the wax, to reveal the final design.
